Hello lovely people! This is our third article in a series dedicated to our speakers. Today is all about Aleks, who has a really interesting WordPress journey.
At WordCamp Bucharest, he will talk about “Agile habits not frameworks“. Let’s get to know him a bit more.
- When and how did you start working with WordPress?
As a matter of fact, this is the most interesting part of my WordPress journey. I was a construction site supervisor for 13-14 years and I owned a company for interior design. However, during the World financial crisis, I needed to shut that business down and computers were always my hobby from Spectrum 48K. I decided to enroll for some course and I decided to learn HTML, CSS and WordPress theme development which was apparently the great choice 🙂
- Why did you choose this topic for your presentation?
I choose this topic because my experience not only in the IT industry is telling me that the culture is something that is way more important than any framework, procedure or process. With the right culture at every level of the company, the results are more than visible and measurable. And that is something that I’m doing on the daily basis.
- What will we learn from your presentation?
Well, everyone should take away something from this presentation. If you are CEO, the scaling up part should be very interesting, if you are the team lead or in some middle management position you should take away idea of which tools to use to incorporate agile culture and positive feedback culture and for employees and juniors, why getting inline with the company culture is more important than the knowledge.
- What do you like to do when you’re not WordPress-ing?
When I’m not WordPress-ing, which is very rare due to my engagement in the Global community, I like to ride the bike and recently I started with Crossfit training. I am a huge fan of Formula 1, Moto GP and all kind of races on two or more wheels.
- Few words for the WordPress Bucharest community
Believe that the Romanian WP community, in general, has a really bright future and my only advice is just keep it up and produce more leaders and people that can keep that positive spirit.
